This is a small island located near and visible from the southernmost tip of Phuket Island. It is just one kilometer from Rawai Beach. It is the site of some excellent dive sites. The island itself is basically a private island managed by the Evason Phuket Resort, although the beach is supposed to be public. There is one restaurant outside of the resort. The island is somewhat famous for its manta rays.

How to get there
is very easy and you can get transportation to from any beach in Phuket, the easiest place to get there is drive down to Rawai and take a Longtail boat and you will be there in about 30 minutes.

Also known as Hae Island or Hay Island, Coral Island is a very popular day trip destination located nine kilometers off the southeast Phuket coast. Colorful coral reefs surround the island – thus, the name!! There are two main beaches, Banana Beach and Long Beach. Diving and snorkeling are the island’s two main activities, but there is also some sailing, para-sailing, and water skiing. The island is managed by the Coral Island Resort, which owns the island’s only hotel.

Kaew Island is clearly seen ahead of the sea when overlooking from Prom Theop Cape or from Rawai Beach. The island comprises Kaew Yai Island and Kaew Noi Island while Kaew Yai Island is more attracting because of its beautiful sandy beach, good swimming spot and delightful atmosphere. There is the limitated Footprint of the Lord Buddha housed on the island. It is appropriate for tourists who do not like to spend much time sailing across the sea. It is not an expensive trip, peaceful surroundings and good swimming area.

This large, mountainous island is only 20 minutes by regular passenger boat from Chalong Bay, in the south of Phuket. The mainly Muslim inhabitants engage in fishing, rubber and coconut planting. There is a long stretch of beach on the northeast coast. Boats to Lon Island leave daily in the early morning from Chalong Pier.

How to get there
20 minute boat ride from Laem Hin Pier on the east coast of Phuket. The turn to Laem Hin Pier is off the southbound side of Thepkrassatri Road, north of Phuket Town and approx 2-km south of the junction with the bypass road. You will see signs to Laem Hin and Maprow Island.

Larger boats operated by tour companies will make the trip in about one hour. Travel to Raya Islands is restricted to dry season and periods when the monsoon is not blowing.

Actually, there are two of them, Racha Yai Island and Racha Noi Island. They are located 18 kilometers due south of Phuket Island. Both have crystal clear, turquoise blue water and good diving and snorkeling sites. Racha Yai Island is closest to Phuket. It has two wonderful powdery white sand beaches, and a rugged, hilly interior. It is moderately developed, having some bars and bungalows, although the tourist scene is dominated primarily by the Racha Resort Hotel. It is inhabited primarily by Muslim farmers and fisherman.
Attractions
The large island, the area of hills and coconut gardens where the small Muslim community is located. There are some beautiful beaches convenient to reach in accordance with the accessible road and the walkway around the island. It takes about half a day to explore the island starting at the western beaches passing the coconut gardens to Siam Bay and Teu Bay that can stay overnight, see the beautiful sunrise and the scenic Phi Phi Islands in the morning. Kon Kae Bay located next to Teu Bay is full of fertile coral reefs favored by tourists. This route will finally meet with the western beaches. Racha Yai is the island of fantastic scenery, good swimming place and coral reefs, the interesting tourist destination either Thai or foreigner.

Tapao Island is the island comprising Tapao Island Yai and Tapao Noi Island with the distance of 800 m in between. Tapao Yai Island has fertile forests where a lot of hornbills inhabit. A stone beach with nature trail around the island and up to the hill can overlook the scenery of Sire Island. Tapao Noi Island is the location of the Southern Sea level Measuring Station, so the island’s visitors need to ask for permission prior to their visit.

The ancient lighthouse of more than 100 years is the island’s distinctive feature, the first lighthouse of the South for navigation aid. The lighthouse area is also the wonderful viewpoint. The island’s beach is not long but very clean and white to be a swimming area. There is also the wide plane stone beach caused by the long period of pilled up coral reefs.

This small, quiet island with fine sandy beaches lies just off Phuket's northeast shore. Waters are suitable for swimming. One item of interest at Nakha Noi Island not found in many other places is its pearl farm. Boats can be hired from Po Bay Pier, off Pa Khlok Rd., for travel to Nakha Noi Island, and package trips are available at tour agencies, generally including lunch and a visit to the pearl farm.

Separated from the mainland of Phuket by the Khlong Tha Chin, a shallow mangrove swamp, this twenty square kilometer island is connected by a causeway to the city. Wat Ko Sire, on the hill, has a large Reclining Buddha and provides fine views of the surroundings. Phuket's largest settlement of Sea Gypsies, or Chao Ley, are on Sire Island at Leam Tuk-kae. Swimming is not present because of the muddy bottom. There are some popular seafood restaurants on the eastern shore.

Yao Noi Island, is one of the largest islands surrounding Phuket and can be reached in one hour by boat from Phuket. The island is situated within a very short distance to the well-known destinations of Bileh Islands, Krabi and Phang Nga (James Bond islands). The tourism has not been developed on a large scale on the island, Thai life style remained unchanged and peace and privacy abound. South of Yao Noi Island it has its twin island, Yao Yai Island, which is even bigger and wilder and offers wonderful spots for trekking. Interesting tourist attractions on Yao Noi Island are Tha Khao Beach, Pa Sai Beach, Klong Jaak Beach and Kian Bay.

How to get there
Long-tail boat ferries make daily trips to Yao Noi from Bang Rong Pier on the east coast of Phuket. From the airport, a taxi will take you to the pier in 25 minutes. To get to the pier, take route 4027 east from the Heroines' Monument, then turn right at the sign for Bang Rong (or Bangrong) and follow along for a few kilometers.

Yao Yai Island, is the largest island in Yao Island District and has many interesting beaches, such as Thi Kud Bay, Klong Son Bay, Sai Bay, Lo Pa Raed beach, Laan Bay, Hin Kong Bay, and Laem Nok Og. Lo Jaak pier is an important pier from Yao Island to Phuket. The water at the pier is clear and schools of fish swim near the bridge at the pier. Visitors can see the production of dried anchovies (pla ching chang) here. There are inexpensive bungalows on the island along with home-stay accommodation (Yao Yai Village) with the local people, who make a living by fishery or agriculture, to learn their lifestyle. Beautiful beaches on Yao Yai Island are Loh Jaak Beach, Loh Pa Raed Beach, Klong Son Beach, Thi Kud Bay and Lan Bay.

How to get there
There are two piers from Phuket to Yao Yai Island: Jianwanich Pier and Bangrong Pier, but we recommend Jianwanich pier as the ferry goes directly to the gathering place. The ferry from Bangrong pier mainly goes to Yao Noi Island, and only stops at the other side of Yao Yai Island which is 25 kms away from the gathering place.

Phi Phi Islands are located about 48 Km southeast from Phuket, 42 km south from Krabi Town and 40 km from Nang Bay and can be reached by boat In between 1.30 - 3 hours depending on the type of boat you take. Boats leave from Phuket, Nang Bay and the Chao Far Pier in Krabi Town everyday. The characteristics of the islands are steep, lightly vegetated cliffs rising vertically from the seabed and hidden bays concealing petite, pristine beaches and calm clear waters.

How to get there
Ferries leave from Phuket and Krabi daily (several times a day during the high season). They are much cheaper when bought in a package with a bus ticket at a travel agency in Bangkok. The nearer you get to Phi Phi Island, the more expensive the ferry tickets get, peaking at 350 baht at the pier. Laem Tong Laem Tong
Laem Tong lying to the north of the island is the former home of sea gypsies; the beach is remarkably splendid. Here, visitors can hire a boat for snorkeling or diving. This Sea Gypsy Village is a collection of tin roof dwellings closely packed together, sandwiched between the Holiday Inn Phi Phi Island Restaurant of Chaba Seafood and the PP Erawan Resort; Solo Bar. You can walk to Loh Ba Gao which takes about 30 minutes one way depending on your stride and the walk features breathtaking views of the cliffs at Lannah Bay and Nui bay.

On Phi Phi Island is the area's most secret and secluded paradise. Since Loh Ba Gao has no deep water pier, the villages tend to be extremely small. The amazing snorkling point is located on Pak Nam Beach between Ran Tee Bay and Loh Bao Gao Bay, reachable via long tail boat from the main pier in 30 minutes or via a designated footpath passing through the jungle and past View Point in 60 minutes.

Thap Lamu Port to Mu Ko Similan National Park, you can take a private tour boat which controlled by the national park and serves tourists everyday. The cost for round trip is 1,500 - 2,300 baht per person. This tour boat departs from Thap Lamu Port at 08.00 am. in everyday. From the port to this islands is about 70 kilometers which takes about 3.5 - 4 hours of journey. The return boat from Mu Ko Similan National Park to Thap Lamu Port departs at 14.00 pm. in everyday. However, this service would be closed at May 16 every year because entering of raining season. Huyong Island Huyong Island
Huyong Island or Island 1 is the closest to Phuket with the longest clean white sandy beach of all the islands, making it an inviting place for turtles to come lay their eggs. Huyong Island has the easiest dived at a depth of 10 to 15 meters. With hard and soft corals and an abundance of sea fans. The shallowness of the area allows sunlight to penetrate to the bottom resulting in a region teeming with marine life.

Meang Island Meang Island
Meang Island or Island 4 is the next largest island in size to Similan Island and is the site for the headquarters of the park. Here are two white powdered beached, the large beach, in front of the island and the small beach, which is about 20 minutes walk away through evergreen forest.
Ha Island Ha Island
Ha Island or Island 5, It's a small island but interesting location for diving. The main attractions and uniqueness for this island is Garden Eels (white and grey eels) can be seen stretching their necks from holes in the sandy floor. There are so many of the place called “Suan Pla Lai”. Moreover, the area is also full of soft coral and stony coral.

Payu Island or Island 6 has a very stunning snorkelling and scuba diving site on the eastern shore. Many divers prefer this site to any other because there are both hard and soft corals, sea fan and many species of schoolling fish. A minore site is found to the west, and another to the north has rocks covered with sea fans. The island has no beach.

Bangu Island or Island 9, is known for good scuba diving at the northwestern tip between some rock outcrops known to local divers as Christmas point. The water depth is between 10 and 35 meters and one can find many pelagic fish amongst the rock formations.

Bon Island or Talu Island, there is a beautiful white powered beach on this island but no accomodation. The waters are suitable for scuba diving, and Whale Shark is often found here.

Tachai Island is located at the northern most tip of the park. There is a beautiful white powdered beach on the island but no accommodation. The water are suitable for SCUBA diving, and Whale sharks and Manta rays are often found here. Facilities incloud a freshwater source, campsites ,a restaurant and small boats for snorkling.
